First important news. We are all still speaking to each other after 11 days, phew!

The birds here are exquisite.

Another hard day in paradise...
This is the beach in flat island which we went on the dive boat for the day.  The dive manager brought his family as well so it was a mixed group. The children spent their time building dens in the mangrove. They have great of freedom here because there are no snakes or scorpions to harm you here. Cathy sent a happy couple of hours snorkelling with Nemo and friends, this island has a reef in about 1 metre of water. Mike went on to do a baby shark dive. Then we all got together for a BBQ and went to swim here in the crashing waves.

This is Paul and our new dive buddies Cliff and Gina from Oxford sorting their gear before we set off. My goodness is there a lot of faffing around connected to diving, Sigh!!!

What a set of bathing beauties in their wet suits. Irresistible aren't they?

This is during our visit to the sugar factory which is also a fabulous national history museum. The tree surgeons were doing an amazing job of taking down one of the amazing flame trees without recourse to any form of health and safety. I suppose the guy in the tree was in long trousers and boots but he wore no hard hat/reinforced trousers and people were clearing logs beneath where he was cutting. The Suffolk wildlife trust would be sick with worry at the sight.

Boy did it rain that day; a veritable monsoon!!!

Cathy has discovered the benefits of all inclusive.... a continuous supply of mojitos and pina coladas. Hic!

Car hire day and the intrepid foursome set off south to the mountains. We decided to run with the compromise of Paul driving and Mike navigating. Although Cathy is the best navigator, since it was felt that the ensuing fallout when Paul had to do what Cathy said (this has never been a successful scenario in all the 30+ years of our friendship!) would probably make the Brexit negotiations look a breeze. Wiz can't tell her left from her right so its was boys in the front, girls trying not to interfere in the back. Mauritius has some spectacular mountain views.

Sharing the most delicious coconut.

Xmas Mauritian style at the shopping mall.

Fast food Mauritian style, we might dispute the healthy description.

The interior of the exquisite colonial house outside Port Louis, French silk wallpaper, Limoges porcelain.
Relaxing on the balcony, born to be a lady!
Don't fancy the paint job on the many peeling doors, mind you!
